Rohwer, Arkansas: Sulu was Here: Japanese-American Internment Camp
Out in the middle of nowhere, a few ruins of the Rohwer Japanese Internment Camp, including the camp cemetery. Star Trek's Sulu (George Takei) was here as a kid.

- Take US-65 to McGehee, then exit at the sign for AR-1. Drive north (away from McGehee) for 11.5 miles. You'll see the signs for Rohwer Relocation Center sign. Turn left; drive down the dirt road.

After the 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor, America rounded up Japanese-Americans and sent them to relocation centers. There were two camps in Arkansas: one in Rohwer and one in Jerome. The only remaining structures in Rohwer are the smokestack and the cemetery, which also has some monuments.
A small museum in nearby McGehee is very interesting, too.
