Pre-Memorial Day Survey Of Central California Windmill Attractions, Pt. 1: Kingsburg, CA, a Swedish-themed town with a giant coffee pot watertower, has lost a signature attraction. The Swedish Mill Smorgosbord Restaurant and Gift Shop, right off Hwy 99, has closed and is for sale. The Viking statue by the front door still stands, but his tunic and helmet are sun-bleached. Across the road, a McDonald's with a big Dala Horse on its front grass seems to be doing just fine.

About 10 years ago, the townsfolk of this Swedish village in Central California spruced up their water tower to look like the splitting image of a Scandanavian Java Pot.
