We saw this spoon 12 years ago, and we're thrilled to find it back again. It is a really large purple wooden spoon.
[Patti Christensen, 07/05/2023]A 25-foot-tall purple spoon is in the yard of Spiral Spoons, a shop run by a lovely lady from Georgia who hand-crafts cooking spoons from beautiful wood. It's in the tiny town of East Glacier outside of Glacier National Park. She and her family make a living with these original spoons, which attests to their beauty. She also makes wands.
[Lorraine Crawford, 07/22/2014]Just found out the purple spoon was stolen and broken last August 2011. They are in the process of rebuilding it. The shop has some gorgeous stuff in it.
[Lynne, 07/18/2012]Maria Folsom directed us to a story in the Glacier Reporter by reporter John McGill about a minor-but-new Montana attraction -- a 14-ft. tall purple spoon. It was unveiled in front of the Spiral Spoon by its owners Charlie and Jo Wagner on May 30, 2005. The spoon is made of plywood and styrofoam (and sawdust, Charmin' toilet paper, and a lot of glue).
The Spiral Spoon sells smaller spoons carved by artist Jo.
