Boot Fence

A fence in memorial of the landowner's son with a boot on each post for an extended stretch of country road between Placerville and Coloma. Check it out if you find yourself in the area, its just one of many pieces of history in California gold country. Head up to historic Georgetown if you've the time, and peep the haunted Georgetown Hotel or pop into Placerville for more kicks, druid statues, an underground river and the historic Cary House hotel...

The Fence of Boots is located on California highway 49 (or Coloma Road) north of Placerville starting at Woodridge Road and heading north about 1/4 mile. The address of the property is 1079 California 49 and you can see the boots all along the west side of the road.
