Last winter a storm broke the Halfwit Muffler Man at the ankles and he fell over. He was down for part of the summer, but then he returned with a nice new paint job and stronger ankles. He has been at the Casino Pier in Seaside Heights for years.

I spotted three of the four Seaside Heights Muffler Men, and they all survived Superstorm Sandy. There is a Neuman overlooking the boardwalk, which is currently under reconstruction. A Paul Bunyan and the other Neuman are stored in a parking lot with rides and debris. The other Muffler Man Bunyan belongs to Barnacle Bill's, and is stored every winter.

My friend Beth and I traveled to NJ in search of Muffler Men (our favorite things in the entire world). We saw there were some listed in Seaside Heights, NJ but when we arrived, we found out that one of them had been destroyed (RE: first reported down in 2003). He is lying on the pier, is missing one of this arms, and we couldn't locate his head. His red shirt said Casino Pier Seaside Heights NJ and he was wearing blue pants.
