Eerie little ghost town! It's close to the interstate and wide open. My pup and I walked down the middle of the road with no one in sight. It was a fun stop and a good place to stretch our legs.

This Route 66 town has dozens of deserted and crumbling buildings. One is a one-room cinder block jail built at end of the 1800s. Propped in front is a tombstone-like memorial for the Texola High School Class of 1938. I'm not sure why. This part of Route 66 is also known as Will Rodgers Hwy and a roadside monument is on the west side of town.
