Opelika, Alabama: Monkey Park Monkey Cage: Fake Monkeys
Municipal Park was known as "Monkey Park" from the days when had a cage of monkeys. It vanished decades ago, but in 2016 the town rebuilt the cage and populated it with wooden monkeys.

- North edge of town. Drive north on N. 5th St. Cross 6th Ave., then make next right onto Park Rd. Drive a hundred feet, then park in the lot on the left. The monkey cage is at the north end of the lot, near the small red building and the little bridges across the creek.

People say they monkey around, but they're too busy sitting, to put anybody down. Plus, it's only a replica.
The park is very nice, includes the kiddie train, and there is a small covered bridge half a block away for anyone who's pining for Madison County.
