About 100 concrete hippos are scattered throughout this community, including a large one in front of the high school. Apparently an escaped circus hippo in the early 20th century created quite a stir here. My favorite was a pair of hippos, with the girl in a yellow bikini. The 1891 bottling plant that was Dr Pepper's first franchise and is the world's oldest bottler of D.P. |
