[Cheryl Carmichael, 10/13/2019]Vintage A&W Teen Burger fiberglass statue, a type that first appeared in 1964, was restored in 2015. The frosty mug-hoisting "Great Root Beer Bear," a smaller statue, was the mascot of a later fast food promotion, in 1974.

Complete A&W Burger Family (1963) on permanent display at the A&W in Lodi -- the Birthplace of A&W. Papa is nine feet tall, Mama and Teen are over seven feet tall, Baby is 4.5 feet sitting down.
[Peter Knight, 07/02/2019]The precise site of Roy W. Allen's first roadside root beer stand is about a half-mile away in Lodi, marked by a small plaque in the sidewalk. That was in 1919 -- long before the introduction of the Burger Family.
