- Williams, Arizona - Flintstones Bedrock City
I took my three kids to Bedrock City on a hot August afternoon on our way to the Grand Canyon. I visited this great little nostalgic spot about 25 years earlier as a kid. My kids just loved it and though park shows its age with some fading paint it leaves the kids fully amused. We even had to stop by later in the day when we were returning to Flagstaff from the Grand Canyon as admission is all day with your receipt. Seeing my kids run around really brought back memories.

On the drive to Flag, my boyfriend and I died as we saw the giant Fred Flintstone off the side of the highway. Both having grown up with the show, we decided to stop and check it out. For the $6 per person entrance fee, we got to see a real live Goatasaurus, go for a pimp ride on the Fred Mobile, and even see Fred House! (My favorite part of the trip.)
A totally unexpected and incredibly awesome time. It was great just to be a goofy kid again, even if it was just for a little while.
[Meg, 06/19/2008]Open for 35 years and wonderfully preserved, this family-owned and -run park is a wonderful stop, and the $5 entry fee was cheap. My family and I rode the little train and visited the Bedrock jail house. The theater was wonderful; watching those old cartoons brought back many happy memories for my husband and me. You can even enjoy a Bronto Burger in Fred's Diner.
We will go back every year as long as it is open.
[Avery Family, 10/21/2007]The place is as described as other reviewers. The park has patina and is obviously worn in places, but the kids loved it and I got to take more than my fair share of photographs for the $4/person admission fee (off season).
A very surreal visit. There were very few people when we visited and coupled with the continuous background sounds of the Flintstones video in the theater heard across the park add up to a very unusual experience.
I completely recommend this park to those of you who can appreciate a park that does not have the polish of Disney.
[Graham Duthie, 05/04/2007]I've finally straightened out some of my childhood memories of this place in Valle, Arizona called Flintstones Bedrock City. Yes, its been 30 years since I first visited -- I was only 5. It's not a 5-star attraction, but let's be realistic here. This place is approximately 37 years old. It was originally built by Hanna along with the one in SD. In 1972 it was sold to the same folks who own it today, as described to me by an employee today.
As a child, being a huge fan of the Flintstones I was in awe. I couldn't believe this place existed. Of course my memory of this place was totally wrong. I remember it being huge.
So adults, if you are planning to stop by with your kids, make sure they know who Fred and family is, or they just won't get it. Remember the place is old, but the characters come to life. Each house is there, each character, it almost makes you sad we had to grow up.
