Santa Rosa Beach, Florida: Truman Show Movie Town
Director Peter Weir's 1998 film comedy "The Truman Show" needed a perfect, artificial-appearing town where Jim Carrey's whole life as Truman would be secretly telecast. Seaside, a planned community, was the main shooting location: Truman's house on Natchez Street, homes along neat brick streets, and town square shops.

The town of Seaside has grown significantly since the movie was made in the 1990s, but you can see lots of the iconic classic architecture. Check out the beautiful post office and band shell in the middle of town. Lots of fun events like yoga, movies, and farmers' markets. Quite picturesque!

Truman's house in the 1998 movie is marked as 36 Natchez Street, and last we heard the owners left the movie house number above the door, even though the house should be 31 Natchez Street. It's still painted the same colors as seen in "The Truman Show." July 2016: Photo added.
