Blackbeard liked it around here; locals have dug up his target practice cannonballs. The statue, 15-20 feet tall, has a treasure chest you can lean against when posing for photos.

This pirate stands in a field next to a marine dealership off NC Route 70. He looks a bit worn. I visited on a Sunday and the dealership was closed so I couldn't get more information. RT 70 is the main route to/from the Cedar Island-Outer Banks ferry.
