Juneau, Alaska: Nail Map of the United States
Wood boards on a downtown dock provide the canvas for a 50x40 ft. outline of the 50 states in 50,000 nails, with Juneau at its center. Community art project started in 2005. Visitors can add a nail for their hometown.

The previous tip reported that the Nail Map was gone, but that is distinctly not the case. I visited it on 06/28/2024 and the nails are rusty, but very present.
[Larry Franks, 08/17/2024]Went looking and couldn't find it. Some of the wooden boardwalk has been removed and possibly the nail art as well. RIP!

Construction along the dock has this fenced off, and possibly removed.
