I was looking up Major Ray (Buster Brown's grave). I am from Hornersville, MO -- born and raised there. Major Ray was my Grandmother's first cousin. She told stories of when he and his wife lived in a house, where the Bapist Parsonage is no, and had miniature furniture. She said they put two beds together so she could spend the night. My Grandmother lived in Hornersville I suppose her whole life. Her name was Cassie (Ray) Dean-Mizell.
Also, the famous Wicker BBQ sauce was patented and made in Hornersville, Missouri for years. A man by the name of Peck Wicker made it -- he also had a screened-in, saw dust floor to cook and serve his BBQ -- probably in about 1980. The sauce was made in Hornersville, but the buyers sold the recipe and patent on this to a company in Memphis, TN.
