Lost US Access - Restoration Procedure

Nov. 2012: When purchasing a region or All Access, if you see the iTunes message "Purchase Unsuccessful," please contact us (in App, tap More, tap Feedback). Include your username, associated email, and which regions purchased. Thanks!

Roadside America App version 1.0 - 1.3, released in 2010-11, included an option to purchase and unlock US Access, renewable annually. If you have upgraded or moved to a new device and iTunes didn't transfer unexpired US Access you paid for, you can restore it. Update in the App Store to the latest version of the Roadside America App. Users with current (unexpired) US Access subscriptions can get upgraded to All Access (US/Canada) with no expiration date.

If you purchased US Access less than 1 year ago:

With Original Device - US Access Purchased Less Than 1 Year Ago

We recommend using your laptop/desktop computer at the same time as your original device used for the US Access purchase -- so you can look at email and web without exiting the App:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the App on the original device you used to purchase US Access. (To see version # in the App, tap More, then About - it's there)
  2. Launch the App, tap More, then All Access, tap the red Restore button.
  3. Login via "I Have An Account" with your user name and password.
  4. To verify you have the restored regions access, go to Cities, check to see list of states/provinces.

For a 2nd device using the same iTunes account, make sure you update to Roadside America App version 1.7 (or higher). Launch the App. If your purchases have not been automatically updated, tap More, tap All Access, tap the red Restore button, and log in to your RoadsideAmerica account.

Without Original Device - US Access Purchased Less Than 1 Year Ago

US Access purchasers after July 16, 2010 were required to set up a user account to ensure they could restore their US Access purchase to existing or new devices. To restore your paid-for US Access you purchased less than 1 year ago, follow these steps.

  1. In the App Store, update to Roadside America App. To see version # in the App, tap More, then About - it's there.
  2. Launch the App, tap More, then All Access, tap the red Restore button.
  3. Login via "I Have An Account" with your user name and password.
  4. To verify you have the restored regions access, go to Cities, check to see list of states/provinces.

This will convert you from US Access to "All Access," which includes the US and Canada. The expiration date on your access will also be removed.

For a 2nd device using the same iTunes account, make sure you update the Roadside America App. Launch the App. If your purchases have not been automatically updated, tap More, tap All Access, tap the red Restore button, and log in to your RoadsideAmerica account.
