Awesome mutant cowboy standing guard over Westward Village RV Park and old antique looking stores. Manager of the place says a renowned local artist painted him last year and completely upgraded him from the original. He has a badge that says "Deputy," and even has a trace of chest hair coming out of his shirt. Very nice. They call him "Big Wes."

This is a postcard I found a few days ago from my childhood. Big Matt stood at the entrance of the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Kansas.
Big Matt was a pretty popular local attraction, but due to Southwest Kansas' high winds, his head was blown off at least four times that I remember! Because of this and problems with vandalism, sometime in the '80s (my memory is kind of fuzzy on the exact time) he was taken down for good.
[Chris Murphy, 03/17/2002]- Yuma, Arizona - Muffler Man - Mutant
There is a Muffler Man in Yuma, Arizona, a little town close to the Mexico/California border. It stands right down the road from a Toys -R- Us, and is dressed like a cowboy, holding a rifle. His hands are positioned correctly. He has been there for years.
[Clarissa J, 06/01/2001] - Yuma, Arizona - Muffler Man - Mutant
A cowboy muffler man stands watch outside a little shopping center called Westward Village, tucked away behind a Target and a Toys R Us off of 32nd Street.
[Nicklby, 08/24/1998] Museum and crumbling remains of a historic desert jail. More colorful than modern tourist prison attractions, and much less terrifying.
