- Jacksonville, Florida - Mini Golf Dinosaur
The dinosaur's eyes still light up at night! They're red and VERY bright. I've had guests from out of town be seriously confused by the lights, and even more confused when they finally see the dinosaur itself. It's a regular sight on my trips to Florida State College at Jacksonville's south campus.

[Roger Sleight, 06/03/2010]- Jacksonville, Florida - Mini Golf Dinosaur
A lone fiberglass dinosaur is the only remnant of an old mini-golf attraction. For some reason, they never tore it down! It sat on an empty lot for years, but now it is being restored and the builders are just building around it!
[Heather, 03/09/2007] - Merritt Island, Florida - Dragon statue
I have lived here since before the dragon was built. She is on the southernmost tip of Merritt Island, FL, was built in 1971 and can be seen on most nautical maps listed as Dragon Point. Over the years she has been given the name "Annie." Dragon eggs had been added midway in her life. Unfortunately, on Aug 4th, 2002, a heavy downpour crushed her. Parts of her remain and numerous groups have been trying to reconstruct her -- but it seems unlikely at this point. A local frame shop sells mounted pictures of Annie along with "dinosaur" bones (pieces of her shell).

Almost missed this big guy because he sits behind other businesses off International Dr. Went back to take pictures and some guy with a leaf blower was behind the fenced area blowing things around. I asked him if the place was reopening and he said no. So I walk around the fence to see what's hiding in there. More than the bright green dinosaur (it appeared to be freshly painted). So who knows.
