- Hinckley, Utah - Shoe Tree
I drove by this tree several times in May 2021. I asked a local man about the Shoe Tree, and he said there was no story behind it. It's just a dead tree with shoes dangling from it. Very charming.

- On the south side of US Hwy 50, 1.5 miles west of the little town of Hinckley. Near milepost 81.
Retired plumber John Anderson has picked up tons of beach junk since 1976. He's built a tower of floats in his yard, and his museum is packed floor-to-ceiling with everything from false teeth to pieces of jet airliners.

Interesting and kinda cool that there are so many different styles of footwear -- and a few other items such as roller blades, skates, a skateboard....

- Directions:
- Take Chagrin Rd northwest from US 422 and Hwy 306 for about a mile, then turn right onto Savage Rd. The tree is on Savage Rd north of Chagrin Rd. and south of Washington St.
Shoe Tree with accompanying chairs, sofa, guitar, and golf clubs, to name a few items. This was a surprise as I was looking for a tree with shoes, stopped because of all the other items, and then noticed the shoes.

- On Platina Rd, five miles west of Ono on the way to Platina. It's between Nono and Gogo Rds.
Folk art environment includes the World's Largest Totem Pole, sculpted out of concrete. Not technically on Route 66, but Mother Road fans have embraced it anyway.

- From Route 66 in Foyil turn east (no stoplight) onto OK-28A (look for the small Totem Pole Park sign). Drive about four miles. When you see the large totem pole on the right above the treetops, turn right onto S. 4243 Rd. You'll quickly come to a gravel parking lot on the left.
