The skull is cool -- but the buffalo wind vanes are even cooler! They're in the same complex as the skull.
[JC, 07/30/2013]Located in the same park as the buffalo skull you will find a large plywood buffalo with a saddle that is perfect for photo ops! Also lots of interesting sculptures in the park to make this worth the visit.

Weighing two tons, stretching 26 feet across, the skull was sculpted by Joe Barrington in June 2012 from steel salvaged from old Texas oil tanks. It's set into the ground to appear partly buried, since the spot that it occupies was once a vast buffalo bone yard. The skull is finished with no rough edges so that kids can climb through its eye sockets and slide out its nose.
