Las Vegas, NV will soon be a second home to The World of Coca-Cola, to go along with its casinos and bars and totally nude strip clubs.

The Showcase, a $95mm, five-floor complex aimed at the family market, will host the attraction, alongside eatertainment also-ran, The Official All-Star Cafe, and GameWorks. The Showcase is situated on 2.85 acres of Strip frontage between the MGM Grand lion head and the hotel's entrance drive. The grand opening is scheduled for this summer.

The World of Coca-Cola Las Vegas will boast an array of interactive exhibits and Coca-Cola memorabilia. The world's largest Coca-Cola bottle -- standing 100 feet tall outside the Showcase complex -- will house two glass elevators that will transport visitors to all levels of the World of Coca-Cola. A three-story wall of ice and some features of the original World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta will also compete for attention. Everything Coca-Cola, a two-level retail store stocked with Coca-Cola merchandise, will be housed in the World of Coca-Cola facility.

Coming in July is Star Trek: The Experience, a $ 50 million joint venture by the Las Vegas Hilton and Paramount Parks. The see, feel and experience complex will take visitors on an intergalactic journey. Movie and TV memorabilia will be displayed; food will be in the Cardassian Restaurant and beverages in the Starfleet Lounge.

Las Vegas was recently the setting of the financially acclaimed Warner Brothers comedy, Vegas Vacation, starring Chevy Chase. [05/03/1997]
