Herron Briggs, Whirlygig Man, dies
The Whirlygig Man is dead. Herron Briggs, 76, passed away on Friday, May 28. The Greenville, SC, folk artist fashioned various discards into whimsical flying machines, visible (and on sale) in his yard. According to tipster Tom Hyatt, " He was found in the yard surrounded by the art he created ... Paramedics were unable to revive him. A heart attack was the probable cause."
