Three museums under one roof, all free. The U.S. Army Engineer Museum and Military Police Museum are both good, but the Chemical Corps Museum is what you want to see first.

- I-44 exit 161A. Drive south on the I-44 extension for several miles to Fort Leonard Wood. Once past the Visitors Center, continue south on Missouri Ave., then bear left onto Constitution Ave. for 1.5 miles. When Constitution Ave. dead ends, turn left onto South Dakota Ave. The John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex will be on the left, between Illinois and Nebraska Aves.

Pawnee Park

- Pawnee Park. South edge of town. From US Hwy 81/Lincoln Hwy, just south of its intersection with 6th St., turn west into Pawnee Park. Once inside the park, turn left and follow the road paralleling the highway. You'll quickly see the flags of the memorial.

Larger-than-life sculpture of Miss America holds out a crown for the new winner (you!). The beauty queen mixes features from New Jersey's two winners (1937 and 1984) and Miss America 2013.

- On the grounds of the former Bell Labs (now Bellworks). Between the traffic orbital paths east of the main building.
