Directions:: Jody's usually around from 10 AM to noon during the summer months. Look for his spotted pickup truck, then walk around to the trailer back door and knock politely. I-95 exit 82. Drive west nine miles into Bowman. At the United gas station turn right onto Elm St./County Rd S-38-36. UFO ahead on left.
Hours:: May 9, 2024: Burned down
Admission:: Donation accepted, $20.
Status:: Gone

While an amusing stop, and we were happy to have taken a slight detour, I am not sure how much longer the UFO Welcome Center will be in operation. Frankly I think the town is missing a major tourist opportunity by not leaning in, but some of the spray paint implies the center will soon be moved.

Maybe it's because I hadn't seen it in nearly ten years, but I was kind of surprised by how bad off the UFO Welcome Center is looking these days. Missing pieces, frayed tarps, a severe case of the leans; it looks like the whole thing is about to fall over. I don't think anyone is going to be going up inside there any more.
