[Gary Richardson, 09/18/2014] - Charleston, Illinois - Abraham Lincoln on a Log
I'm from here. "Tiny Head Lincoln" is what the locals call him. He's not far from a giant ugly Lincoln just a few miles east of town.
[Arlo Roan, 03/26/2016]Abraham Lincoln on a Log:- Address:
- Lincoln Ave., Charleston, IL
- Directions:
- Southeast corner of Morton Park, Lincoln Avenue and 2nd Street. Statue is surrounded by a fence.
Found this life-size carving of Abraham Lincoln in Morton Park, Charleston, Illinois. It is still attached to the monstrous-sized log from which it emerged. Appears to have been sculpted by chainsaw. The plaque in front contains the text of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. Didn't notice any other identifying information about it.
[O'Neal, 06/15/2015]Charleston is along the Lincoln Highway. There's a more traditional bronze statue of Lincoln at the nearby Lincoln-Douglas Debate Museum.
Street parking is pretty easy. There are a couple of civil war monuments and Lincoln historical markers kitty corner to the mural.
[Joannah Soderborg, 08/16/2017]The mural is based on a March 28, 1864, Civil War riot in Charleston between Union soldiers and "Copperheads," who opposed the war. Nine men were killed, 12 injured. The man screaming in the foreground of the mural is a Copperhead, identified by the tiny copper pin on his shirt collar.

- 520 Jackson Ave., Charleston, IL
- Directions:
- 6th street and Jackson Ave.
She's a somewhat alarming Cupid before Valentine's Day.
