Tornado Victim Memorial
Plainfield, Illinois
The Plainfield Tornado Memorial is a black granite triangle, near the high school and obscured by trees. It is dedicated to 29 people who lost their lives as a result of the twister that cut a 12-mile long swath of devastation through the area on August 28, 1990.
On the back, a detailed map laser-etched into the stone shows "The tornado's path of destruction" through the region.
