Giant Fiddle and Banjo
Branson, Missouri
A huge banjo tilts on the floor of the Grand Country Square, a covered assembly of snack shops and stores. The neck of the replica Gibson banjo is 47 ft. long and continues out through a circular window towards the street.
For some reason -- perhaps the crazy angle -- it is promoted as Branson's "Eiffel Tower."
As impressive as it is from indoors, from the road it is not as dramatic. Our first thought when we see a guitar neck poking the heavens is "Hard Rock Cafe." The Banjo, with it's neon strings, is supposed to be more eye-catching at night.
