Birthplace of Philo Farnsworth, Father of TV
Beaver, Utah
Beaver is near Paragonah, the rural birthplace of Philo T. Farnsworth, inventor of the television. Young Philo didn't have coherent thoughts about TV until after he'd moved out of southern Utah (to Rigby, Idaho, "Boyhood Home of Philo Farnsworth"and "Birthplace of Television"). And his experiments and breakthroughs with his "image dissector" didn't happen until he'd moved elsewhere again.
Beaver honors his baby roots with a statue next to the old Beaver County courthouse.
