My dad and I visited the "cow store" every day. He bought his scratch-off tickets from there and won $5,000. I believe the cow brought us luck.
[shelley hintta, 04/03/2010]My Dad's best friend, Dan Campbell, owned the Carry Dairy for many years. As far as I know, it has always been a carry-out/convenience store. The cool thing was it was a drive-through carry-out. You would drive up, someone would come to the car, take your order, go in the store and bring it out to you. Not sure if they do this anymore. A lot of great memories buying milk from the Carry Dairy.
[Ypsi Boy, 01/20/2010]I grew up in Ypsi from 1960 to 1978. The building used to be the Milk Depot, and that is why they had the cow.
[Ken Starlin, 01/10/2010]As per my father Herbert Mida, my grandfather Albert Mida, delivered this bovine in a trailer to its destination in the 1950's I believe. I can remember seeing it as a kid in the 60's. He worked for Ford Motor Company and also sold real estate in the Belleville area. Not sure why or how he got involved in the delivery? I'll investigate further.

Big Milker in Ypsi Here is a photo of the giant cow in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It's been there for years. I think I first saw it 20 years ago. I'm sure it was once a dairy store but now, as you see, Bessie seems to be pushing Budweiser.
