Bread and Puppet Museum - Creepy Giant Puppets

I just wanted to comment on this "museum." We first saw it listed in the Vermont Gazeteer and expected to see actual normal hand puppets. You will not find those here, nor marionettes. These "puppets" are very large, spooky and creepy and I am guessing, made of a type of papier mache. A warning to anyone who is also expecting normalcy here: you will not get it. I found it to be very strange. Oh, and I wouldn't trust the bread, either! The conditions are not exactly sanitary.

Abnormal puppetry -- sounds much better than we imagined....

Bread and Puppet Museum - Creepy Giant Puppets

"The Bread and Puppet Theater has been astounding audiences since 1962 with their unique performances." The Bread and Puppet Museum, housed in a 130 year old barn, displays the world's largest collection of gigantic puppets, arranged by size, color and theme. Guided tours and a museum shop.

Big crazy puppets, hippies, and fresh baked bread. What more could you ask for?
