Carson City, Nevada: VW Beetle Spider

The VW spider in Nevada was in a movie for about 4 seconds. The movie is called The Wizard. It's got Fred Savage, Beau Bridges, and Christian Slater in it. There is a scene when the kids are on motorcycles with some guys and they pass it on the road. These bugs must have been there for a while, because the Wizard was filmed before its release in 1989.

The Giant VW Beetle spiders live in Nevada! I knew where one was in Reno, and happened on ANOTHER east of Carson City today! The advantages of moving to Nevada! Besides escaping California taxes and run your life laws, but, I shall refrain. The "Spiders" are full sized VW bugs with huge tubular legs, segmented so gracefully. Perching, looming, making you exuberant that spiders are not actually of these dimensions. Feel like "bait?" Like the old sci-fi flick "THEM", with arachnoid cast members! Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaa!

I thought you might want some extra info on the VW bug that looks like a spider in Carson City, NV. This is the last bug of 4 that were made over 20 years ago since I grew up looking at then on my way into Reno. There were located on Highway 395 on the South side of Reno for years and then a few years ago they moved that one since it was in the best shape to Carson. Loved those spiders.
