Visitor Tips and News About High Trestle Trail Bridge: Glows at Night
Very cool! But we found out it was I think .8 miles to the bridge and a little farther to the lights. So it was a bit of a walk. But it was a nice paved path....with no lights. We were there at night so we had to walk in the dark. I learned I CAN see in the dark and it didn't bother me. Wish the lights spanned the whole bridge too, but still it's worth it! Can't wait till I go back![Mrs Butterfly Tattoo, 08/11/2013]
High Trestle Trail Bridge: Glows at Night
This bridge was set-up for bikes and walkers to cross the river. It lights up at night.[Randy & Penny, 05/07/2012]
The High Trestle Trail Bridge is a ten-foot wide ribbon of concrete -- opened to pedestrians, cyclists, and skaters in 2011 -- that rises 13 stories in the air above the Des Moines River. At night, it resembles an effects shot from the original Tron, or a screen from the old Battle Zone arcade game.
