While in Staunton, one should check out the Blackfriars Playhouse, the world's only recreation of Shakespeare's indoor theatre. Staunton is also home to Woodrow Wilson's Birthplace, which houses a really cool old car belonging to the president. There's also a "monument" to the Statler Brothers (this is their hometown) in the downtown area....which was supposed to be this really amazing modern art piece, but doesn't really amount to anything more than 4 oversized stools that are difficult to climb on to pose for a photo. Staunton, Virginia - Giant Watering Can and Flower Pots Giant Watering Can and Flower Pots spotted as we were driving through Staunton to meet some friends for dinner. Staunton, Virginia - Giant Sprinkler Can and Giant Flower Pots The town of Staunton, Virginia has a large sprinkling
can and two giant flower pots. The were created by Ferguson's Metal
Fabrication. The Fabrication Shop has a giant steel Pinocchio
and giant crutches. Last Memorial Day they displayed giant
military hemlets and rifles. Ferguson's shop is pretty cool too. It's
full of improbable machines and large stainless steel robot legs.
The Staunton library and hospital also display his large structures. [Jeff Watson, 06/24/2001]
