Shark From Jaws - Gone

Couldn't find it! We were at the ice cream shop and saw the big cowboy, but no Jaws!

Shark From Jaws

He's full of trash! Not that anyone should get inside him, but maybe they should consider cleaning the poor guy out. He's all alone in a gravel lot, with oil cans in his belly.

Giant Statues

Giant great white shark. Also a Muffler Man-like giant cowboy statue holding an ice cream cone.

[Allen Hook, 09/25/2012]

According to a sign next to the shark, it was used as a prop in the 1975 movie Jaws. The Ice Cream Cowboy is a modern-day Muffler Man imitation, almost as scary as the shark.

Giant fiberglass shark - As seen in "Jaws"

When my sister and I were driving to Chincoteague Island from Ocean City, Maryland this past summer we stopped at a ice cream parlor / gift shop for refreshment. They had a school-bus sized fiberglass shark sitting out on the front lawn. According to the sign in front, this is "Bruce" one of the props used in the movie 'Jaws'. A small rowboat is positioned in front of the shark's gaping mouth, the better to stage a picture.

Glenn and Rebecca Brown provided this photo of the shark in action.
