We were amazed with this attraction. The face jumped right out to me. It took my wife a minute to make out the face. The kind gentleman who escorted us to the door said he had never seen it so vividly as he did with us. He said he has been volunteering for over 12 years.
Moving the door back and forth on it's hinges will enhance the image. The room the door is on is now, rightfully, a prayer room.
I was expecting something rather "hokey." But, this is the real deal!
[Bob & Ann from KY, 03/27/2012]After an inspection of multiple doors in the hospital, we can confirm that this door is unique. Unfortunately, Jesus is only mildly photogenic, partially due to a sheet of graffiti-proof plastic over the door.
[Heather and Eric, 04/27/2007]The door was still there last spring. It is now used as an office door on the second floor near the central waiting area (if I remember correctly). Ask one of the volunteers. They love to show it to visitors.
[Kelly, 12/21/2004]From our Miracle files: In April 1983, a wood grain visage of the Lord was suddenly noticed on a door at the Walker County Medical Center. Amazing recoveries were cited. It may have been eventually removed to reduce visitor traffic, though miracle seekers were still flocking to see "The Door" in March of 1984, nearly a year after a man swore he saw the face of Jesus Christ in it. Reported still visible in 2004.
