Kinsley, Kansas - Midway USA

Going west on US-50 my brother and I stop by this little town, and there is a huge sign that says: 1,561 mi. East NY / 1,561 mi. West San Francisco. There is also an old steam train so you can get in. [christian, 08/01/2008]

I saw it on my way to Dodge City from Kinsley. There's a giant sign that says Halfway and there's an arrow that points to both New York City and Los Angeles, which are the same distance from Kinsley. There's also a military tank at the American Legion building, next door. [Logan Adams, 10/10/2004]

[RA: We paused for a rest here on our Halfway Tour in 1999. Kinsley refers to itself as "Midway USA." Park is on the west edge of town. A large sign in the park indicates that San Francisco is 1,526 miles to the west and New York is 1,526 miles to the east. ]
