I stopped by to visit Paisano Pete in Fort Stockton, Texas on my way home from Las Vegas. I wanted to see how he was handling being dethroned as the World's Largest Roadrunner. The news of an even larger roadrunner in Las Cruces, NM doesn't seem to bother Pete in the least. The people of Fort Stockton still appear to be taking care of their giant roadrunner (20 feet long, 15 feet tall). Residents will still tell you Pete is the largest roadrunner in the world, and the wooden sign at Pete's base proclaiming him to be the World's Largest has not been altered.
Pete's sturdy concrete construction assures that one day he'll be the largest again, once the New Mexico roadrunner is reduced back to junk from which it was created.

You can find Paisano Pete. He is a roadrunner and at 20 feet long and 11 feet high he is quite at sight, and probably the largest roadrunner in the U.S. He is on Hwy 290 and Main St.
