In August 2021, the grounds were getting a makeover. Not just a new paint job, but also new plaster, tile, and marble. Stunning! Use caution if visiting. No one was around to ask about how long work would continue.
[Mike Gassmann, 09/06/2021]- Columbus, Ohio - Loa Buddhist Temple
The temple is still there and as beautiful as ever! An extensive fence has been added -- and be aware the vertical posts of the fence serve as graves. They have doors in them and many have funeral urns and personal items tucked inside. You can still visit the grounds, just be respectful as this is also an active cemetery and there could be funerals going on when you arrive.

If you follow GPS you start to think "there's no way there is a Buddhist temple around here." Then, Bam!, there it is. It really is beautiful and if you visit on a sunny day it glistens and sparkles. The colorfulness and shine is definitely out of place in the neighborhood. The yard is surrounded by a low brick wall and every brick column is a shrine to someone who has passed.
[Melissa, 08/03/2015] Not exactly sure why this is here, but it's amazing. Lived here for years and never knew it existed. Awesome find.
