Sculptures blown by the winds of politics, this Kansas man's viewpoint is writ in metal. No matter what you believe or whom you believe in, M.T. Liggett probably has a sculpture to offend or amuse. M.T. died Aug. 17, 2017

In our world of political correctness I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing metal art sideshow. Totally worth the time; I spent over an hour looking and photographing these sculptures.

Watch Video.- Mullinville, Kansas - Political Statement Totem poles
I saw the totem poles and stopped to take some pictures. On that day, a man from PBS happened to be there doing a documentary on the man that creates them. Did he ever give me a scoop! The whole town is in an UPROAR over his creations (some of them being hilariously offensive) and have actually tried to make it illegal for people to stop and take pictures. They even tried to get a bull dozer on this man's PRIVATE property to physically remove them! I think the special airs in October.
[Heather Carone, 05/29/2001] I was so fascinated with this site (it is on the west edge of the SMALL town) that I had to stop and take some photos. There was no one around in the town to ask: who, what, why. So never did get any real information. This is Republican or Libertine country as you can tell by the signs (he loves Bubba Clinton). Notice that these signs are made very durable from metal welded together in the various whirl-a-gig shapes and then hand painted.
[Bob Lijewski Mason, 04/17/1999]One sign refers to Clinton as a "yellow coward jackal." Highway 54 west of Greensburg.
