Famous Death Valley character and pseudo-prospector lived down the hill in Scotty's Castle. Rub his tombstone nose for luck!

Scotty's Castle

- On the north side of Scotty's Castle Rd either three miles east of the Grapevine Ranger Station in Death Valley National Park, or three miles west of the California-Nevada state line. Follow the path on the left (west) side of Scotty's Castle to the hilltop graves. Note: the nearest gas station is 45 miles away.
- Admission:
- Park entry fee.
35-room "house" built of hand-made bricks and junk by Cabot Yerxa, who labored on it for 24 years until he died in 1965. House and yard filled with odd artifacts and art.

The house where Ferris Bueller lived isn't in Chicago. It's in a nice neighborhood in North Long Beach, California! Don't expect to find a Ferris Bueller museum inside; it's a private residence. I'm sure the owners have had their share of Ferris Bueller fans knock on their door.
