- 700 W 39th St, Houston, TX
- Directions:
- Garden Oaks subdivision. Just north of W 39th next to a driveway on the west side of Shepherd.
An oak tree in the Garden Oaks subdivision is drawing the attention of passersby who say they see an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe on it. The homeowner said the tree on his property has become a spiritual attraction for many Houstonians.
For months, complete strangers would stop at the oak tree near the edge of his property on N. Shepherd Drive. And many of them would kneel in prayer. The homeowner told news media that people stop by once or twice a week to leave flowers and candles. He also added that most of the people that come by keep it in very good condition and will rearrange everything to make it nice and pretty.
It's unclear how the image came to be, but the homeowner said he believes a car might have hit the tree.
