- Montevallo, Alabama - American Village and History in Miniature
A recreated Colonial Village in the heart of Alabama. Costumed historical interpreters portray such historical greats as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Betsy Ross and many others. The Village sits on 113 rural acres. Buildings consist of Washington Hall, patterned after Mount Vernon; a Colonial Courthouse; three small trades buildings; a Colonial Chapel, patterned after Bruton Parish Chapel; and the Patriot Gift Shop, among others.
The site also features the Pettus Randall Miniature Museum of American History, a separate building which houses a collection of 72 handcrafted miniatures of American presidents and first ladies and 35 uniquely detailed dioramas of critical moments (over 400 years) in our nation's history. Other features include colonial gardens and a Liberty Bell Garden centered with an exact reproduction of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

A funny collection of recliners, toilets, and a sofa creates a rest area for road-weary travelers. It even has its own "air" mailbox and welcome sign. Good for a chuckle as you drive through the countryside on a two-lane highway.

The Museum of Native American History invites visitors to walk through America's past. From the woolly mammoth skeleton that greets guests at the front door to rare Mississippian head pots to the early reservation period, the museum's authentic collection of artifacts gives a glimpse into the richly diverse cultural history of the first Americans.

- Eureka Springs, Arkansas - Frog Fantasies
Frog Fantasies & Gift Shop at 151 Spring Street has over 6000 frog items in its museum. The owner is an 82 year old man who, along with his wife, has been collecting frog items for over 50 years. We visited the gift shop on July 5, 1999 and were surprised at only having to donate $1.00 to tour the museum. The gentleman is quite witty. They sell frog collectibles to Robert Goulet, who has over 3000 in his collection.

The warriors were created by the late Huo Bao Zhu; it's the largest display outside of China. Also outdoors is the Wounded Peace Dove, a giant bird with a bloody head sculpted by Fred "Nall" Hollis. The university calls it "a symbol of both beauty and sorrow." Nall is a famous Troy alumnus. August 2020: Photo added.
