A Route 66 gift shop claimed to have a Route 66 map longer than any other. As of 2013 the shop had closed and the map had fallen into ruin.

Formerly a gift shop (I remember shopping here about 20 years ago), this site is now an abandoned geodesic dome surrounded by faded tar paper teepees. Vandals have broken into the dome and smashed all the display cases. Behind the dome is a cluster of trailer homes that are also abandoned. In the parking lot is what has to be one of the world's largest dream catchers at 12 feet tall.
[Kris, 06/19/2015] Tour the hi-tech sealed facility that was supposed to prepare its inhabitants for post-atomic-war survival, or possibly life on Mars. It didn't work; now the place is researching climate change.

Outdoor dinosaurs lure travelers to a cave along an otherwise empty stretch of Route 66. Elevator drops 200+ feet into the cave, which features Civil Defense leftovers, and the leftovers of those unlucky enough to have fallen into the cave.

North on Hwy 143/Hohokam Expy for two miles, then take exit 4 onto Washington St. East one mile, turn left onto 56th St., turn right onto Van Buren St. After you cross Galvin Pkwy. the road curves to the right; look for the Hall of Flame sign and exit to the right. Museum on right.
