Classic Auto Wash entertains queuing car neatniks with a variety of fiberglass statues, vintage gas pumps, beached row boats with mermaids and old salts. Music blares from speakers over the washing bays. A big Santa looms -- 18 to 20 ft tall -- with a push-button "Talk to Santa" box at its side (only turned on in November and December). In back there's a rubber-faced Clark Kent in a phone booth, changing into Superman. Next to it, a T-Rex head appears to be bursting out of the roof.
Ken Balcom reminded us it also features a giant golf ball, train, dinosaurs, the Blues Brothers, elf, zebras, turtle, gator, polar bear, captain, pirates, anchor, and a wind mill.
