Giant Amish couple.

Big Amish Statues

Field review by the editors.

Lancaster, Pennsylvania

A gargantuan Amish man and woman flank the circular "Wilkum" sign at the Lancaster Holiday Inn. The man, perhaps 12 ft. tall, waves a friendly greeting, while the woman brandishes a whisk broom and food basket. Their faces are addled caricatures, typical of the knee-slappin' but wholesome humor practiced in Amish Country.

We assume the couple are husband and wife, but Mr. Amish Man better be wary. Amos, a rival, wise-crackin' Amish Man formerly of Zinn's Diner in Denver, PA, is in the neighborhood, over at the Hershey Farm Restaurant and Inn in Strasburg.
