It's a school mascot for the Sunnyslope Vikings, fiberglass, standard sea raider mold, encountered nationwide (though not a Muffler Man by our reckoning).

The protective fence discourages climbing, but does little to foil drink box barrages.

Directions:: I-17 exit 207. East on Dunlap Ave. 2.5 miles. The statue is on the south side, in front of Sunnyslope High School, just west of Central Ave.
