John Dillinger was Public Enemy No. 1. When the FBI learned that he was watching a movie at what is now the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, on the north side of Chicago, they took no chances. The date was July 22, 1934. When Dillinger left the theater, he didn't get very far. He sensed that something was up, ran a few doors down and ducked into an alley, and died in a hail of gunfire. There's no plaque here; just the alley.
