Mary Elizabeth Youens Hopkins began her Santa Claus collection in 1913 -- when she was only six months old -- and only stopped in 1990 because she died. More than 3,500 are on display in her museum -- a small house -- filled with figurines, music boxes, dolls, dishes, ornaments, and Santa photos, as well as Santa art by Norman Rockwell, Thomas Nast, and a complete collection of Haddon Sundblom Coca-Cola Santas.

From the brochure: "The merriment begins as you pull the nose of the Santa door bell and listen as the tune 'Santa Claus is coming to Town,' echoes onto Washington Street."

Directions:: Corner of Washington & Bowie Sts. Opening museum requires a volunteer from the Visitor's Info Center (across from the Confederacy Museum water tower) to come out, unlock, turn on the air conditioning, and dust the cabinets.
