Nancy's Grave, and Maybe Sid's, Too (Closed)

Field review by the editors.

Bensalem, Pennsylvania

Nancy Spungen, the 20-year-old groupie girlfriend of iconic Sex Pistols punk rocker Sid Vicious, was stabbed to death on October 12, 1978. Some say that Sid killed her in a drugged stupor, others said that it was someone else. Regardless, Sid felt terrible about it, and let it be known that whenever he died, he wanted his ashes scattered on her grave. The opportunity came less than four months later, when Sid succumbed to a heroin overdose.

Nancy was buried in her suburban hometown outside of Philadelphia. According to legend, Sid's mom either fulfilled her son's request, or dropped the urn and accidentally scattered Sid's ashes at Heathrow Airport. He has no grave marker, though Nancy's grave is decorated with pebbles and other offerings left by fans.
