19-Foot-High Troll

Yet another immense troll -- this one 19 feet high -- built by Danish artist Thomas Dambo (and a crew of local volunteers) out of recycled wood scraps. Named Ole Bolle, the artwork was completed in the summer of 2023. He kneels and lifts the roof off of a small house, supposedly looking for something to eat.

Ole Bolle's official press release states that he's looking for a cookie jar, but a handful of tiny cookies would hardly satisfy a giant-size hunger. Besides, everyone knows what trolls really eat.

We suggest that visitors stand inside the house and pose, looking up in terror, at the prospect of becoming a snack.

Directions:: Nordic Northwest. Southwest of the city, on the south side of SW Oleson Rd. Turn into the parking lot of Nordic Northwest; the Troll is behind it, nestled between trees behind Fogelbo, a home filled with Nordic art.
