Organ Stop Pizza

Why settle for regular pizza when you can chow down while serenaded by a complicated musical instrument? The fine folks at Organ Stop Pizza acquired a Wurlitzer theatre organ originally installed in a Denver theatre in 1927, and built a pizza joint around it. The organ has over 5,500 pipes, and also features a wide range of percussion instruments, including a grand and upright pianos, tuned bird whistles, a train whistle, and castanets. It also has the ugliest cat puppets I have ever seen. The organist will take requests and puts on a good show, but it is tough to converse with all of the music. The pizza is adequate, but the show is a lot of fun. If you want to enjoy the experience at home, they have a gift shop that includes CDs of their featured organists. [Joel Turner, 09/05/2005]
